Christine L. Ballard, age 20 of Watkins, died, Thursday, March 12, 2015 in a motor vehicle accident. Funeral Mass: 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 17, 2015, St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Watkins, with Fr. Craig Steimel officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Marengo. Visitation will be at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, where a Rosary will be recited at 3:30 P.M. Monday, March 16, 2015 and visitation will follow until 8 P.M. A memorial fund has been established.
Christine is survived by her parents, Bill and Lori Ballard of Marengo; her brothers, Scott Ballard (Jessi) of Watkins, and Jeffrey (Shelby) of Vinton; her grandmothers, Mildred Ballard of Marengo and Eileen Klenk of Amana; two nephews, Troy and Trevor Ballard, and a niece Alyce Ballard; along with several aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her brother Nicholas in infancy, and her grandfathers, LeRoy Ballard, Sr. and Donald Klenk.
Christine Louise Ballard was born August 28, 1994 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Bill Ballard and Lori Klenk Ballard. She graduated from Benton Community High School with the Class of 2012. She had been employed with DJ’s C Store in Norway, and most recently was a CNA, employed with Colonial Manor of Amana. Christine had been active in 4-H and FFA. She enjoyed showing her rabbits, goats and chickens at the fairs. She attended the Old Threshers’ Reunion in Mount Pleasant where she loved helping her Dad and her brother Scott show gas engines. It was her greatest joy to be “auntie” to Troy, Trevor and Alyce, and she will always be “Daddy’s Little Girl”. She especially liked to spend time with her best friends.
