Carol Joie Beebe, age 58, of Marion, Iowa, passed away Friday, December 26, 2014, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha, surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, December 31, 2014, Clover Ridge United Methodist Church, Walford, with Rev. Mike Townsley officiating. Burial will be in the Koszta Cemetery, rural Marengo. Visitation: 4 to 8 P.M. Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Clover Ridge United Methodist Church, Walford. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo is assisting the family with arrangements.
Carol Joie Beebe was born December 24, 1956 in Buffalo Center, Iowa, the daughter of Gordon and Anna Smoley Beebe. She graduated from Benton Community High School in 1975, and attended Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids. She had been employed with Heritage Nursing and Rehab Center in Cedar Rapids, the Lutheran Home in Vinton, and also in home health care.
Carol enjoyed collecting candles, angels, and other knick-knacks. She loved to bake and cook, and spend time outdoors. She was a loving person, and dearly cared for her family and those she cared for in her professional life. Her family was foremost in her thoughts, and she loved spending time with them whenever she was able.
Carol is survived by her son James Behnke (Alysia Gilbert) of Marion; two daughters, Jennifer Tucker (Carldray) of Marion, and Stephanie Land (Craig) of Cedar Rapids; nine grandchildren; her siblings, Stuart Beebe (Linda) of Kansas City, MO, Marcus Beebe (Lynn) of Cedar Rapids, and Leita Privett (James) of Bells, TN; a daughter-in-law, Samantha Behnke of Marion, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Rosella Pettit, and a brother-in-law, Ivan Pettit.
