Lucille I. Langlas, age 93, of Williamsburg, Iowa, died Friday, May 16, 2014 at Highland Ridge Care Center in Williamsburg. Memorial Service: 10:30 A.M. Thursday, May 22, 2014, First Presbyterian Church, Williamsburg, with Rev. Gary VanHuekelom officiating. Inurnment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Williamsburg. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 P.M. Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at the First Presbyterian Church, Williamsburg. Memorials may be contributed to Highland Ridge/Willow Creek Unit or First Presbyterian Church, Williamsburg. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo is assisting the family with arrangements.
Lucille is survived by her daughters, Dian Boysen and husband Carlos of Hiawatha, and Sandra Reed of North Liberty; grandchildren Tyler Wright (Anne) of Kansas City, MO, Adam Reed of Phoenix, AZ, Colin Wright (fiancee Aimee) of North Liberty, and Logan Reed of Denver, CO; a great-grandchild to be born in the autumn of 2014; a brother George Mittelbach of Amana and a sister-in-law, Donna McGurk of Cedar Rapids, along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Don in 2012, and a granddaughter, Jennifer Dawn.
Lucille Irene Mittelbach was born May 21, 1920 in West Amana, Iowa, the daughter of Philipp Anton and Clara Leichsenring Mittelbach. She graduated from Marengo High School in 1938 and married Donald C. Langlas on June 12, 1943 in South Amana. Lucille was employed over the years with the telephone office in Marengo, the State Tax Office in Des Moines, and ACT in Iowa City. She enjoyed quilting and embroidering, bowling, reading, baking and her flower garden and plants. She especially enjoyed spoiling her four grandsons.
Lucille was the best wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was her own worst critic, always saying she should have done it better. She was generous, and giving, and will be deservingly rewarded in heaven.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of Highland Ridge, and especially the staff of Willow Creek.
