Lucille D. Maas, age 88 of Williamsburg, died Friday, September 2, 2016. Funeral Services will be 10:30 A.M. Thursday, September 8, 2016 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Williamsburg with Rev. Thomas Ogilvie officiating.  Burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be after 9:30 A.M. Thursday at the church. A memorial fund has been established.  Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo is assisting the family with arrangements.

Lucille was preceded in death by her husband Richard in 1989, her son Douglas in 2015, a sister Lorene Bierschenk, and two brothers, Orville and Laurel Weiss Jr.  She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Lucille Dorothea Weiss was born September 12, 1927 in rural Iowa County, the daughter of Laurel and Amanda Koester Weiss.  She graduated from St. Paul Lutheran Elementary and Williamsburg High School.  She continued her education, receiving a diploma from beauty school in Cedar Rapids. Lucille and Richard H. Maas were married on September 30, 1950 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids.  Lucille operated her beauty shop out of her home until her retirement at age 81. She thoroughly enjoyed her profession and looked forward to seeing her clients at their appointments.  Lucille also liked tending her many flowers and plants. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Williamsburg.
