Milford A. Martinson, age 82 of Brownsburg, Indiana, formerly of Williamsburg, died Tuesday evening, October 20, 2015 in Brownsburg. Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M. Saturday, October 24, 2015, First Lutheran Church, Conroy, Iowa with Rev. Don Dovre officiating. Burial will be in the First Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation: 5 to 7 P.M. Friday, October 23, 2015 at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. A memorial fund has been established.
Milford is survived by his wife Nancy, and a stepson Jeffrey L. Edwards (Susan Monroe and her daughter Jane Hahn) all of Brownsburg; a sister Leona Loyd (Luke) of Cedar Rapids and a brother Merlyn Martinson of Marengo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Irvin; three sisters, Norma Siems, Joyce Mumm, and Anna Marie Martinson in infancy; and two brothers-in-law, Noel Siems and Dwight Mumm.
Milford Allen Martinson was born July 18, 1933 in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Carl Elmer Martinson and Mathilda Rose Hunzelman Martinson. He attended the Hilton School in Conroy. Milford proudly served in the U.S. Army for two years, stationed in Alaska. He and Nancy Lee Gorsch Edwards were united in marriage on August 28, 1966 at First Lutheran Church in Conroy, Iowa. Milford worked for several years as an operating engineer for Martinson Grading. He then was employed by Dave Schmidt Construction until his retirement in 1995.
Milford was a lifetime member of First Lutheran Church in Conroy. His life revolved around his family, farming, and tractors. He especially enjoyed the family events, and having everyone together.
