Debra Sue Olson, age 64 of Brooklyn, died Friday, June 24, 2016 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City. Memorial Service: 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 29, 2016, Victor Baptist Church, Victor, Iowa with Rev. Dan Andrews officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 P.M. Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Kloster Funeral Home in Brooklyn. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
Debra Sue Thompson was born December 15, 1951 in Grinnell, Iowa, the daughter of Gerald and Rosemary Walter Thompson. She graduated from BGM High School with the Class of 1970. She then attended Graceland College in Lamoni, and Iowa School of Beauty in Des Moines. Debbii owned and operated Rosemary’s Beauty Shop in Brooklyn, and worked at the Flag Store. She also groomed pets and was a rescue mom for P.A.L.S.
She is survived by her daughters, Gerrii Meola (Joe) of Altoona, and Tommii McKusker (Kevin) of Marengo; seven grandchildren Eve, Claire, Ella, Sophia, Taytin, Amelia and Morgan; three brothers, Thomas Thompson (Sue) of Brooklyn, Rod Thompson (Julie) of Vinton and Jeff Thompson (Renee) of Amana; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Her parents preceded her in death.
