Robert Edward Schutterle, age 76, died Monday, January 11, 2010 at his home in Ladora following a short illness. Funeral Services: 10:00 A.M. Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo with Rev. Marvin Lorenze officiating. Visitation: 5 to 8 P.M. Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at the funeral home.  Burial: Ohio Cemetery, rural Ladora.   A memorial fund has been established.

He is survived by his wife Mary Ann of 57 years; two daughters: Vicky (Kathleen) Schutterle of Ladora, Kathy McMann of Marengo; two sons: LaVerne (Charlotte) and Terry (Jeanne) both of Ladora.  Also surviving are six grandchildren, several great grandchildren, step grandchildren, and step great grandchildren.  He is also survived by his two brothers: Frances (Barb) and Donald (Teri) both of Marengo. 

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Robert Edward Schutterle was born June 11, 1933 in Iowa County, the son of Edward and Bernice Hacker Schutterle.  He attended the Iowa County Schools and married Mary Ann Tuttle on November 16, 1952 at Saint John’s Lutheran Church in Marengo.  He worked at Cargill Corn and Starch until his retirement in January of 1996.

Robert loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He enjoyed driving his Dodge Ram truck, farming, camping with his family and the campers club.  Robert was a regular attendee at his great grandchildren’s sporting events.
