Adolf J. Zuber, age 98 of Marengo, Iowa, died Monday, December 15, 2014 at Rose Haven Nursing Home, in Marengo. Funeral Service: 11:00 A.M. Monday, December 22, 2014, Trinity Lutheran Church, Conroy with Rev. Gary Sears officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Conroy. The family will receive friends after 10 A.M. Monday, December 22, 2014, at the church. Memorials may be contributed to Trinity Lutheran Church, Conroy, or Essence of Life Hospice, in his name. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo is in charge of arrangements.
Adolf is survived by his daughter Karen Esser and husband Robert of Marengo; three grandchildren, Rinda Shoup (Scott Wolfe) of Amana, Todd Esser (Christina) of Marengo, and Kelsie Ballard (Billy) of Marengo; 4 great-grandchildren, Lauren Shoup of Iowa City, Taylor Shoup of Minneapolis, MN, Brandon Shoup of Cedar Rapids, and Sidney Ballard of Marengo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Dorothy, a great grandchild, Lindsey Shoup, and his siblings, Ada Daenzer, Flora Butlin, Ervin Zuber, Frieda Zuber, Clarence Zuber and Reno Zuber.
Adolf John Zuber was born September 19, 1916 in Conroy, Iowa, the son of August and Kathrine Glandorf Zuber. He received his education at the Hilton School in Conroy, and married Dorothy Marie Cooperider on February 14, 1940 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The couple farmed for many years, most of that time in Iowa County. They moved from the farm to Marengo in 1980. Dorothy passed away December 2, 2003.
