John A. Kloster

John was born and raised in the north central Iowa community of Lake Mills. He graduated from Upper Iowa University in Fayette and received his degree from Indiana College of Mortuary Science in Indianapolis, IN. John worked at several eastern Iowa funeral homes and eventually purchased Hoover-Valentine Funeral Home in Marengo in 1993. He purchased Nevenhoven Funeral Home in Brooklyn, Iowa in 2008. John is active in community affairs, having been a member of the Marengo Memorial Hospital Board and the the Marengo Kiwanis Club. He is currently a member of the Marengo Senior Housing Board. John belongs to Trinity Lutheran Church in Walford. He enjoys riding his motorcycles, trips to the Ozarks, and also boating.

He and his wife Beth have three grown children, Jeff in Overland Park, KS, T.J. in Brooklyn, IA, and Angela in San Antonio, TX.

Beth Kloster

Beth Kloster was raised in Waukon, Iowa and attended Mercy Hospital School of Radiologic Technology in Cedar Rapids.  She has worked at several hospitals in Iowa, PCI in Cedar Rapids, and the Marengo Memorial Hospital. Currently she is on staff with the funeral home. Beth is a member of the Marengo Memorial Hospital Foundation Board. She enjoys her evenings out with John, and monthly Bunco get-togethers with the girls. She also enjoys trips to the Ozarks, boating, and the occasional motorcycle ride.

T.J. Kloster

Thomas J. “T.J.” was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and graduated from Iowa Valley High School at Marengo. His college education was obtained through Kirkwood, Coastal Carolina University, and he received his Mortuary Science Degree from Des Moines Area Community College in Ankeny. He currently resides in Brooklyn. He owns Kloster Monuments, and is active in restoring cemetery markers that have fallen in disarray.  T. J. loves to bow-hunt, fish, and golf.  He serves as a board member of the Marengo Golf Club.
