Jerry A. Baetsle, age 82, of Marengo, passed away, Friday, December 2, 2022, at his home.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 12 noon, Wednesday December 7, 2022 at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. Inurnment will be at Marengo Cemetery, Marengo.  A memorial fund has been established. 

    Gerald “Jerry” Arthur Baetsle was born November 9, 1940 in rural Victor.  He is the son of the late Henry and Anna Belle (Roberts) Baetsle.  Jerry grew up in the Victor area and received his education from the Victor Catholic School.  He was a hard working man and worked various jobs over the years.  Jerry farmed in rural Ladora for 15 years.  He worked at Amana Refrigeration for 37 years, at Kinze Manufacturing as a security guard for 10 years and he drove an industrial transportation bus for many years.  Jerry was united in marriage to Karen Wyant on July 19, 1980.  Karen passed away in 2003.  Jerry later married Michele Reames Cousins and the couple made their home in Marengo.

     Jerry loved to ride his motorcycle and take vacations.  He enjoyed drinking coffee, being around friends and visiting with anyone willing to listen.  Jerry especially loved his time spent with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

     He is survived by his wife Michele, of Marengo; three children, Kris (Larry) Jones, of Williamsburg, Kerry (Linda) Baetsle, of Victor and Kellie (Dan) Baetsle, of Des Moines; a step-daughter Kim (Preston) Rath, of Homestead; a brother Jim (Dixie) Baetsle, of Altoona; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Karen in 2003.
