Carol R. Klein, age 89, of Brooklyn, passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at Brooklyn Community Estate.  Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Grace United Methodist Church, Brooklyn, with Rev. John Dodds officiating.  Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m., until service time at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Grace United Methodist Church, Brooklyn.  Interment will be in Brooklyn Memorial Cemetery, Brooklyn.  A memorial fund has been established.  Kloster Funeral Home, Brooklyn is assisting the family with arrangements.

     Carol is survived by her four children, Darrell (Nancy) Klein, of Brooklyn, Mike (Julie) Klein, of Brooklyn, David (Sue) Klein, of Des Moines and Terri (Bill) Stern, of Indianola; 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren, on the way.  She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin, her parents, a grandson Christopher Klein, a great-grandson, Mason Klein, three brothers and one sister. 

     Carol Rosemary Hall was born January 18, 1934, in Malcom, the daughter of Glen and Madeline (Speeter) Hall.  She graduated from Brooklyn High School.  Carol was united in marriage to Marvin Klein on October 5, 1951, at the Madison Church of Christ, rural Brooklyn.  Carol was the administrative secretary for Brooklyn Community Schools and worked alongside her husband Marvin on their farm.  She taught Sunday School at the Barnes City Christian Church.  Carol was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, in Brooklyn, since 1964 and a member of the Montezuma Quilting Guild.  She loved gardening, enjoyed mowing and reading, decorating cakes and loved animals.  Carol was very passionate about having EMT services in Poweshiek County and worked very hard getting them started.
